A placement with the Biological Analysis Section at the Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (OMOECC) in Etobicoke ON will provide the opportunity to work in a government facility and learn the intricate operations of an Aquatic/Sediment toxicology laboratory involved in routine testing of industrial effluents, contaminated site assessments, method development and applied research. The OMOECC is a signature to the Canada/Ontario Agreement (COA) and has direct responsibility for monitoring and controlling pollutants in the Great Lakes watershed.

We are seeking students to join our summer grounds crew The University of Guelph Arboretum is currently accepting applications for seasonal summer employment on the grounds. The position will be based out of the RJ Hilton centre on College Ave E., Guelph, Ontario. The position pays $12.00 per hour, for 35 hours per week (8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday), and runs for 18 weeks, starting April 25th (start date is flexible).
The position entails outdoor physical work in a team environment. Day to day tasks may include:
 Landscaping
 Tree planting

The theme of this year's Teaching and Learning Innovations (TLI) conference is Assessment: informing learning & teaching  We invite faculty, sessionals, instructors, staff and students to propose a 20-minute showcase or a 50-minute workshop related to assessment methods and strategies that seek to enhance the learning experience. As well, we welcome proposals that describe practices aimed at changing student attitudes or perspectives on learning through assessment.

Grant has been selected to attend the  PDAC’s 10^th annual Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop (S-IMEW).   He will be one of 26 senior geosciences students from across Canada  who will meet in Sudbury for this 2-week all expenses-paid workshop. This hands-on intensive learning experience is designed to give the students an opportunity to experience the many facets of the mineral exploration industry.
 

The Library is hosting a free two-day Writers Workshop over reading week, Feb 18 & 19 and we invite you to attend.  Students, staff, faculty or the public can register to attend one or all of the sessions featuring U of G faculty, staff and/or community writers covering a number of writing topics ranging from blogging to academic publishing.

With the burgeoning interest in honeybees, we can no longer keep up with the demand for our educational services without more resource material. We would like to hire an individual with audio visual and web design skills to work with our team in an initiative to improve our honey bee educational resources.
