The Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation recently announced that six U of G researchers will receive funding for wide-ranging studies, including precision agriculture, electric vehicles and functional foods. The Arboretum is currently accepting applications for our 2018 Arboretum Summer Grounds Crew. This 18 week opportunity is open to University of Guelph students and recent graduates with a pay-rate $14 per hour (Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week).
Members of the Summer Grounds Crew will assist staff in all aspects of the maintenance of the grounds, gardens, woody plant collections and nursery at The Arboretum. Responsibilities include:
• Equipment operation, including mowers, wood chippers and tractors.

The School of Environmental Sciences (SES) is pleased to welcome Dr. Scott Krayenhoff as an assistant professor in the area of atmospheric science. Krayenhoff began in his role on January 8, 2018."Scott’s expertise in regional climate and urban meteorology is an excellent complement to our existing strengths,” says Prof. Jon Warland, director of the School of Environmental Sciences.
