SES Welcomes Scott Krayenhoff - New Atmospheric Science Prof

The School of Environmental Sciences (SES) is pleased to welcome Dr. Scott Krayenhoff as an assistant professor in the area of atmospheric science. Krayenhoff began in his role on January 8, 2018."Scott’s expertise in regional climate and urban meteorology is an excellent complement to our existing strengths,” says Prof. Jon Warland, director of the School of Environmental Sciences.

Profs to Share Climate Change Expertise With Senate Committee

Three University of Guelph professors have been invited to share their expertise with the Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry this week.

Profs. Claudia Wagner-Riddle, School of Environmental Sciences; Alfons Weersink, Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics (FARE); and Barry Smit, emeritus professor in the Department of Geography, will address the committee Oct. 19 at 8 a.m.

Congratulations Richard Heck on being re-elected to 3rd term Board of Directors of the Agricultural Institute of Canada

Dr. Richard Heck has been re-elected to a third term as member of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Institute of Canada ("Canada's Voice for Agricultural Research & Innovation"). In recent years, the AIC has organized national conferences on the development of an 'Agricultural Research, Innovation and Development Policy for the Future' (2015), the 'Dissemination of Agricultural Research' (2016), and 'Agricultural Innovation in a Changing Environment' (2017).

Just Published 2017 publication “Characterizing Sites, Soils & Substrates in Ontario – Volume 1 Field Description Manual”, authored by R.J. Heck, D.J. Kroestch, H.T. Lee, D.A Leadbeater, E.A. Wilson & B.C. Winstone.

“This publication builds upon the legacy of the ‘field manual for describing soils in Ontario’, in its various editions (OIP 1980, 1982, 1985 & OCSRE 1993), which has provided standard field reference for collecting landscape and soil information, within the province, for more than 25 years.
