Let’s Talk Science at The University of Guelph is part of the national network of Let's Talk Science Outreach, an award-winning, national, charitable organization. Let’s Talk Science Outreach’s volunteer network focuses on creating and delivering free, hands-on/minds-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities to youth from preschool to high school.
This is an opportunity to join a new dairy microbiology group funded by the Dairy Farmers of Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. and experience in the field of dairy science with an understanding of the physical, biochemical and microbiological principles in relation to dairy and/or food systems. You will contribute to the writing of grant proposals through literature review and design of innovative approaches to improving the quality and health applications of dairy products.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
The Summer Experience Program student will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of field, laboratory and data work with Dr. John Lauzon's "Yield and Quality Response of Alfalfa and Canola to Sulphur Fertilizer" project, greenhouse trial and other projects. Some field research tasks include soil sampling, helping with plot set up and maintenance throughout the growing season, taking plant samples and harvesting plots.
We have one last speaker in the 2014-15 seminar series and that is Dr. Lindsay Eltis from the University of British Columbia (Life Sciences Centre). Faculty host Dr. Stephen Seah.
