This year the Ontario Pest Management Conference (OPMC) will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Victoria Park East Golf Course, Guelph, ON. Research presented at the OPMC will focus on all aspects of pest management associated with food and fibre production, and animal and human health. The theme of this year’s conference is “Convergence of Food Security and Sustainable Pest Management”.

The position is equivalent to a Lecturer or Assistant Professor position (German pay scale E13 TV-L). It is not tenured but scheduled for an initial period of three years with an option for extension. The starting date is negotiable, but an ideal starting time is Sept. 1st, 2015.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. and experience in the field of dairy science with an understanding of the physical, biochemical and microbiological principles in relation to dairy and/or food systems. The Summer Experience Program student will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of field, laboratory and data work with Dr. John Lauzon's "Yield and Quality Response of Alfalfa and Canola to Sulphur Fertilizer" project, greenhouse trial and other projects. Some field research tasks include soil sampling, helping with plot set up and maintenance throughout the growing season, taking plant samples and harvesting plots.
