SES Seminar Guest Helen Hambly- SEDRD

“ Sisyphus’ Tasks: Gender Transformative Approaches in Agriculture, Environment and Food Security” In ancient Greek mythology Sisyphus was punished by the gods for his cunning and condemned for all eternity to roll a boulder uphill. I use this legend to reflect as a researcher and advocate for gender transformative praxis. I look at landmarks across the four decades of gender policy and programs within agriculture, environment and food security. I discuss the ways in which global and national institutions, including universities, ‘engender’ science, technology and development.
