ARTHUR D. LATORNELL AWARD OF MERIT 2018

 

The Soil and Water Conservation Society, Ontario Chapter, was created in 1951 to give a focus to our members’ interests in conservation issues within Ontario. Our mission is to foster the science and art of soil, water and related natural resource conservation to achieve sustainability by promoting and practicing an ethic which recognizes the interdependence of people and the environment.

 

Congratulations Lucas Silva (Former SES Graduate)

Congratulations to Lucas for winning the University of Oregon Outstanding Early Career Award! This is the highest research award at the University of Oregon for early career faculty. Lucas was a former SES PhD student with Dr. Madhur Anand.


 

Wolf Lake Tones is a multimedia presentation May 18th

The International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation (IICSI), the College of Arts, the Ontario Agricultural College, and the School of English and Theatre Studies at the University of Guelph are pleased to co-host the multimedia presentation Wolf Lake Tones on Friday May 18th, at Silence (46 Essex Street in Guelph, at 7 pm).  

Summer Grounds Position at the University of Guelph Arboretum

The Arboretum is currently accepting applications for our 2018 Arboretum Summer Grounds Crew. This 18 week opportunity is open to University of Guelph students and recent graduates with a pay-rate $14 per hour (Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week).
Members of the Summer Grounds Crew will assist staff in all aspects of the maintenance of the grounds, gardens, woody plant collections and nursery at The Arboretum. Responsibilities include:
• Equipment operation, including mowers, wood chippers and tractors.
