Research interest

My research interest lies in understanding plant-soil–microbe interactions and factors that alter these interactions under various land use and agricultural landscapes. These below-ground interactions are critical for above-ground biodiversity, ecosystem functions, and the environment. Some of my current research projects aim to assess the impacts of plant root traits and land use on soil microbial communities and greenhouse gas emissions. I use a multidisciplinary approach to conduct field-based experiments and utilize advanced molecular tools such as quantitative real-time PCR, high-throughput sequencing, and bioinformatics tools to elucidate the mechanisms of these interactions and the impacts on microbial functions.
