John Riley (Nature Conservancy of Canada) Talk

Next Wednesday, January 14th, John Riley (Nature Conservancy of Canada senior science advisor, author of "The Once and Future Great Lakes Country") will be a guest of SEDRD.

Riley's talk will describe the history of environmental change in the Great Lakes basin, including massive declines in flora and fauna to recent increases in nature protection and re-wilding.

Environmental Soil Chemistry Faculty position at McGill University

 The Department of Natural Resource Sciences of McGill University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Environmental Soil Chemistry. The successful candidate will conduct research with a focus on the chemistry of degraded soils, particularly as it applies to urban and peri-urban agricultural and contaminated sites. Research areas of particular interest include the remediation and restoration of soil quality of degraded and contaminated sites, and the behavior, bioavailability and transport of trace metals and organic contaminants.
