Network & Telephone System Maintenance : Saturday May 24 2014 (6:00 AM to 11:30 PM)

On Saturday, May 24, from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM, CCS will be performing the following Tier 1 maintenance activities:
(1) Campus Virtual Switching System (VSS) Migration ( 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM )
During the maintenance window, CCS will be performing VSS migration on half of the campus network. The other half of the campus network has been migrated to VSS during Summer 2013. Brief interruptions on data and voice networks at following locations are expected during this window: A.A.Thornborough, Richards, H.L.Hutt, East Residence, East Village, South Residence, Landscape Architecture, University Centre, Raithby House, Child Care Centre, Arboretum Centre, DAY Hall, Zavitz Hall, John T. Powell, MacNaughton, Crop Science, Gryphon Centre, Hagen Aqualab, Axelrod Institute of Ichthyology, W.F. Mitchell Athletics Centre, McLaughlin Library, Alexander Hall, Rozanski Hall, Gryphon Field House, Kemptville Campus, Ridgetown Campus, 620 Gordon, Alumni Stadium, Alumni House, Vehicle Services.

(2) Campus Telephone System Upgrades ( 12:00 PM - 11:30 PM )
During the maintenance window, CCS will be replacing temporary equipment with equipment made available during the April T1 Maintenance Window. In addition, some tasks not completed during the April T1 maintenance window will also be completed. As the new equipment is brought online, telephones will re-register, however, calls in progress will not be interrupted during this process.

NB: While no interruption in service is expected for most telephone operations as a result of this second maintenance activity, there are expected interruptions in telephone service due to the Campus Virtual Switching System (VSS) Migration as described above.
