Prof. Biswas student awarded with $40'000 HQP Scholarship

Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance: Food from Thought  - Business-Innovation-Research HQP Scholarship

Fernando de Jesus Montaño Lopez, a Master student in Prof. Asim Biswas’ lab was awarded a $40’000 HQP scholarship for his project “Effect of land conversion on soil carbon and nutrient dynamics in the Great Clay Belt of Northern Ontario: A digital soil mapping approach”. 

The HQP (Highly Qualified Personnel) scholarship awarded by the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance is supported by OMAFRA and the Food from Thought program and partly funded by the Canada Research Excellence Fund. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding graduates that demonstrate excellent skills and forward-thinking in the agri-food and agri-business sector.
