Posted on Thursday, April 2nd, 2015

The Summer Experience Program student will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of field, laboratory and data work with Dr. John Lauzon's "Yield and Quality Response of Alfalfa and Canola to Sulphur Fertilizer" project, greenhouse trial and other projects. Some field research tasks include soil sampling, helping with plot set up and maintenance throughout the growing season, taking plant samples and harvesting plots. Some laboratory work may include grinding the plant samples for analysis, weighing and drying plant samples, processing soil samples, sample preparation, and general lab maintenance. Some data work might include recording and maintaining plot records, typing up data produced from their field and lab activities, and reviewing papers. Traveling to and from the Guelph campus to the research sites using university vehicles for field research will be required, and a G class license would be considered an asset.
