Research

I work on the taxonomy and systematics of true flies (Diptera), primarily stilt-legged flies of the Micropezinae (Diptera: Micropezidae). I'm also interested in the diversity and natural history of Diptera in general, the role that natural history collections and museums play in society and science education, and how social media can be used to connect researchers and academia with the world.
