My primary research focus is the development of computer models to describe the speciation and adsorption of toxic elements in soils, sediments and waters. Current projects include 1) developing adsorption models for nickel and arsenic in soils of the Sudbury area and for silver and antimony in the Cobalt area, Ontario, 2) modelling the retention of cadmium, lead and mercury in soils of Jiangsu Province, China, and 3) developing best management practices for the non-regulated elements (antimony, silver, thallium, tin and vanadium) in bio-solid amended soils.
