Atmospheric Sciences

Studies in climate and meteorology focus on interactions between the atmosphere and the earth's surface. Projects range from greenhouse gas exchange measurements to studies of turbulent dispersion of trace gases to the microclimatology of human comfort outdoors (is ‘human comfort outdoors correct?). Much of the research relates to agriculture, such as management impacts on gas emissions and weather and climate impacts on crop yields. Climate and meteorology research is instrument and field work intensive, with a strong theoretical component, and encompasses the whole soil plant atmosphere continuum.
