MSc position: Nature-based solutions with Dr. Wenxi Liao

Description:

The Liao Research Lab in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of Guelph is seeking a highly motivated M.Sc. student to join the group in 2026. The research project(s) will focus on one or more of the following areas: water treatment (e.g., phytoremediation and advanced materials), stormwater management, green infrastructure, plant performance, soil-plant-water interactions, environmental monitoring and remediation, and remote sensing/GIS. Qualifications and experience:

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental/civil/chemical engineering, analytical chemistry, plant and soil science, or a related discipline. During graduate training, the student will conduct independent research and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and staff.

Candidates must meet the minimum admission requirement of a B average and, where applicable, satisfy the University’s English language proficiency requirements. Prior experience in laboratory and/or field work related to water or environmental systems is required.
