Three University of Guelph professors have been invited to share their expertise with the Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry this week.

Profs. Claudia Wagner-Riddle, School of Environmental Sciences; Alfons Weersink, Department of Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics (FARE); and Barry Smit, emeritus professor in the Department of Geography, will address the committee Oct. 19 at 8 a.m.

They will talk about the effects of climate change on the agriculture, agri-food and forestry sectors, and discuss adaptation and emissions reduction strategies.https://news.uoguelph.ca/2017/10/profs-to-share-climate-change-expertise-with-senate-committee/ [1]

The University of Guelph’s SES distinguishes itself from other environmental science programs in that it comprises a true integration of the life and physical sciences to address important environmental problems in forest, aquatic and agro-ecosystems.
In addition to our unique research capabilities, the SES is committed to providing a learner-centered environmental science education to undergraduate and graduate students – one that is second to none in North America.
