United Nations Association in Canada - Internship Opportunity

Dear Valued UNA-Canada Partner,

I hope that you will share widely our latest call for our competitive, prestigious International Development & Diplomacy Internship Programme. There are only three weeks left to apply.

My name is David Yu and I am the Programme Officer for the United Nations Association in Canada’s International Development & Diplomacy Internship Programme (IDDIP).These internships provide successful applicants, known as Junior Professional Consultants (JPCs), with invaluable, demanding, deeply meaningful work experience, as well as a proven bridge to employment. The Programme also provides professional development support including: job readiness, resume building and webinars   before, during and after our JPCs deployment. In its 19th year of operation, the IDDIP has sent hundreds of Canada’s best and brightest graduates and young professionals to UN agencies around the world.

Eligibility/Quick Facts:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Must have completed an undergraduate degree.
  • Over 90% of our Junior Professional Consultants (JPCs) find related work within three months of their completed internship.
  • Internships are self-funded, typically six-months in length with UN agencies such as: UNDP, IOM, UNICEF, UN Women, IOM, UNHCR.
  • Current host agencies are located in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Senegal, Tanzania, Thailand, Switzerland, Zimbabwe, Peru, Rwanda, India and Indonesia.
  • Successful applicants will be deployed in early June.
  • These internships offer invaluable, deeply meaningful professional development experience.
