Research participants needed for a project on volunteerism at Guelph

Submitted by sessupport on February 23rd, 2015 1:57 PM

Hello,

My name is Ashley Wilson, and I am an M.A. student in Public Issues Anthropology here at the University of Guelph. I am contacting you as I am doing a research project for ANTH 6140, Qualitative Research Methods, which will examine student motivations to do volunteer work, and how they perceive the work they do. In order to fulfill the requirements for this project I am looking for 6 students from the University of Guelph who do volunteer work and are interested in being interviewed. The interviews will take 30-50 minutes and can take place at a time and location that works for the student being interviewed. For more details, please refer to the attached information letter and consent form.
The goal of this research is to better understand why students volunteer. In addition, I am interested in their perceptions of the value, importance, and function of the volunteer work they do for themselves, the community, or beyond.

If you are interested in participating in this project, please contact me by email at awilso24@uogulph.ca.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the course instructor, Dr. Satsuki Kawano or me.
Course instructor: Dr. Satsuki Kawano, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, University of Guelph,skawano@uoguelph.ca, 519-824-4120 [1] ext. 53912

Thank you,
Ashley Wilson
