Funding

All MSc and PhD full-time students will receive funding while registered full-time in their eligible semesters which is 6 semesters for MSc and 12 semesters for PhD with satisfactory progress in each semester. Funding beyond these semesters is not guaranteed and at the discretion of the research advisor. We do not promise funding to the students in the MES program, nor part-time students in the MSc and PhD programs. The following chart shows the Guaranteed Minimum Yearly funding in the School of Environmental Sciences (SES). Note that students with excellent academic records may be nominated for additional internal scholarships and that students are encouraged to apply for external or internal scholarships. For more information on scholarships, please consult the graduate studies Scholarships and Awards [1] website. You may also use the Graduate Award Search Tool [2] for internal University of Guelph awards.

The University of Guelph’s SES distinguishes itself from other environmental science programs in that it comprises a true integration of the life and physical sciences to address important environmental problems in forest, aquatic and agro-ecosystems.
In addition to our unique research capabilities, the SES is committed to providing a learner-centered environmental science education to undergraduate and graduate students – one that is second to none in North America.
