The Derry Lecture is sponsored by Douglas and Margaret Derry and it recognizes the interdisciplinary spirit that animates the First Year Seminar program. This year the lecturer is Janet Bannister, a technology innovator who created Kijiji (and took it global). Janet has provided leadership for a number of internationally known companies and is now a General Partner in a venture capital firm where she looks for new ideas and helps to nurture them. A former Canadian triathlon champion, understands dedication and determination; she is inspirational and insightful.
