For graduate students specializing in agricultural business, economics, finance or trade

 

Call for Applications

Deadline for Submission – 11:59 pm, April 8, 2015

The Douglas McRorie Memorial Scholarship is in recognition of the significant contribution Douglas McRorie, PAg, FAIC, made to agricultural finance throughout his career with the Royal Bank of Canada and his professional involvement with the Agricultural Institute of Canada and AIC Foundation. This scholarship is made available through the support of the RBC Foundation.

The awards will provide financial support to Masters or PhD students specializing in agricultural business, economics, finance or trade.

Two scholarships will be offered in 2015:  one for Masters level students at $3,000 and one for PhD students at $5,000.

Scholarships are awarded on the following basis, but not necessarily placed in order of importance:

1.       Agricultural post-graduate student,

2.      Emphasis in research related to agricultural business/commerce/economics/trade,

3.      Academic record,

4.     Leadership and community service,

5.      Work experience and career interests, and

6.     Letters of recommendation.

This scholarship is supported by a grant to the Agricultural Institute of Canada Foundation by the RBC Foundation and is administered by the AIC Foundation.  2015 Application Guidelines and Application Form can be found at www.aicfoundation.ca/mcrorie/.
